Barcode jumble
I'm pleased with the product but there were a couple of things about this transaction that I did not like. First, I was charged for shipping but nothing was actually sent to me by a shipping company so I felt like I was charged a fee for nothing. The second problem I had was actually getting the barcode graphics. I got the barcode numbers fairly quickly in an email. That email asked me to reply so the graphics could be sent. I replied immediately. Nothing for several days. I finally had to call the company to resolve this. Once I got in touch with the company by phone they responded quickly with the barcode graphics. I'm pleased with the end result but the transaction should not have required so much on my end.

Practical, money-saving advice
"The Bar Code Implementation Guide" by Stephen L. Pearce and Rick Bushnell truly is a guide that will benefit anyone who already uses or is interested in using bar coding for warehouse and distribution systems. Written by two well-respected members of the distribution industry, the guide provides practical, easy-to-understand steps to implementing bar coding technology. This is not the average "turn the page and continue reading" book. The guide is divided into several sections that address the many facets of bar coding implementation in a clear and concise fashion. Want to know how bar coding can help your business? Turn to the "Benefiting from Bar Codes" section. How about the money aspect? Turn to "Equipment & System Costs." The guide also includes question-and-answer sections and numerous worksheet-style appendices. These are helpful for defining specific problems your business might have and offering solutions to these...

Great primer on Bar Coding
This is a great book for anybody who wants to understand what bar codes are, how they work, how to prepare a cost/benefit analysis and how to implement bar codes. Even if it is called Using Bar Codes in Distribution, it is as relevant for other applications. There are a some redundancies in this book that would need to be fixed in a reeddition. Also it would be nice if a reedition was done since it dates from 2000 and technology has evolved so much. But still, even without these improvements it is a great book.

Definitely worth the price
I bought 4 of these scanners for data entry purposes. I've used them for about a week now, scanning approximately 2000 items daily for each scanner. So far i've had only a few instances where the scanner wouldn't read the barcode the first or the second time (automatic scanning), but pulling the trigger over the barcode a few times did the trick. The scanner comes with a handsfree stand (as described) that needs minor assembly. It has a little piece of metal that screws to the bottom of the stand, making it bottom-heavy, so it's pretty sturdy when mounted on the stand. I took the scanner right out the box and plugged it into my laptop and started scanning right away, so it really is plug and play. For the price, I am very satisfied and would definitely purchase more if the need arises.

Can't beat the price, works well
--Setup--It just works, plugged it into a Mac mini, closed the "Identify Keyboard" window and immediately began scanning barcodes.--Accessories--The hands-free stand works well. I needed a stationary, hands-free scanner, which is why I bought this one. Long cable, longer than what I need, but I'm sure others are happy for this (if you're gonna be limited by a cable, who really cares how long it is anyway?)--Usability--I got this for scanning tracking documents at my work. In my situation, the barcodes are all similar -- six numeric characters encoded in a "Code128" barcode. The barcode is printed about 1 inch (25mm) wide on our tracking sheets. This scanner does a decent job with these barcodes, however I'm a little disappointed because it's usually difficult to get a good angle for the scanner to read the code. Unfortunately we don't use the hands-free stand as we had planned because the user almost always has to twist the scanner...

New Installment of Steve Weber's Diary of Online Selling
Barcode Booty is, I believe, the fourth book Mr. Weber has written and self-published on the subject of reselling on the Internet. It would be interesting to know why Mr. Weber does not publish through an established Publishing house, since the quality of his material, and the interest it would find is certainly high. The book passes my first test of a superior volume. I found something interesting and useful within the first five minutes of reading. If this doesn't happen, whether its cooking or theology or hiking or computer engineering, I immediately assume 4 stars or less. The easter egg in this book is when Mr. Weber describing finding a toy at T. J. Maxx for $30, which he sold on Amazon for $280. The way he was able to accomplish this discovery, with a cellular phone camera with barcode reader and pricing applications, is the primary subject of this book. Otherwise, the book essentially follows the pattern of his earlier works. Thus, if you don't have his earlier...

Amazing
I love this thing, I go into a store, scan the Bar-code on anything I like and it shows me what it sells for online. Very convenient when shopping for bigger ticket Items. If I see it's only a few dollars more in the store I usually buy it, If I see the difference of $20 or more I order it online and wait for it to arrive.

Best Barcode Scanner!
I'm in the document management business, and we're frequently installing barcode applications for desktops, databases, and other purposes. It's an absolute God-send to be able to scan the barcode from a document and see what the barcode actually says. It has solved MANY problems where the client wants to blame our software for not reading their barcode, only to find out that their barcode is wrong or badly formed. Also useful while shopping to do quick comparison shopping - it tells me in seconds if something is available at Amazon.com, and what it costs.Reads MANY different barcode formats including the ubiquitous UPC, the common "3 of 9", 2D DataMatrix and several others.

Same as Android Market version
From the developer -- this is in fact the same app as you will find on the Android Market. It is not listed as by "ZXing Team" since for complex reasons Amazon has to deploy their own copy independently. But it can be trusted as the same application.

Nice label maker
Nice labeler, many different label types to use for different enviroments. I use this to label Infant bottles and then subject them to the microwave for sanitation and the labels stay on for a long time. I also use this in industry as an OEM to label wires and cables and they hold up very well. As I said there are several different types of label material, be certain to choose the correct material for your application.

Product Description

The Brady BMP 21 Portable Label Printer prints via thermal transfer at 203 dots per inch (dpi) on a variety of materials, and uses easy-to-load cartridges and automatic label formatting. With a simple ABC keyboard, the Brady BMP 21 prints in character sizes up to 3/4” wide and up to 1.5” long. For use in identifying a variety of items, from cables to equipment, this label printer prints single- or multi-line, in six character sizes: 6, 9, 14, 20, 28 and 40 point, including bold, auto sizing, and bold auto sizing styles. Use the BMP 21 to create self-laminating labels, wire marker sleeves, nylon cloth, and continuous tape labels with 203 dpi for clear, crisp printing. The thermal transfer printing method stays bright and lasts longer than direct thermal printing.

The BMP 21 has 80 unique symbols (13 for voice/data communications technology), and code 39 or code 128 barcodes. The backlit LCD is easy-to-read and measures 2” by 1” (50.8 mm x 25.4 mm). Press print once for multi-print or serial, and labeler has a cutter button on each side for right- or left-hand use. Quick-loading cartridge makes switching jobs faster than other label printers; the label printer automatically senses the cartridge label type and size. Label retention keeps the label secure in the printer until label is needed. Labeler can hold a continuous roll up to 21’ long. The memory feature stores the last-used setup. The label printer is 1.66 pounds and runs on (6) AA-batteries (not included) or optional AC power (power cord not included), and automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of nonuse. On battery power, it will print approximately 1,512 labels that are 2” (50.8 mm ) long. Built-in bumpers help protect corners from harsh field conditions. Labeler comes with a 12-month manufacturer warranty. The printer and its printing materials are Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant for reducing the amount of hazardous materials used in producing electronic and electrical equipment.

Label printers, also called label makers or labelers, are a type of computer printer that print on rolled stock or fanfold stock. Label printers are used for many purposes, including asset management, price marking, packaging labels, laboratory specimen marking, and naming file folders. Label printers use a variety of printing technologies, such as laser, thermal transfer and direct thermal mechanisms. Some label printers may interface with a computer to create special types of labels, such as barcodes, while other label printers can create special content using the printer’s own operating system.

Best option for wire wrap labels
My primary use for a label printer is to mark wires in industrial electrical cabinets. I need the type of label where the text is printed repeatedly perpendicular to the label direction, then wrapped around the wire. (NOT the "flag" type where the label is just folded in half over the wire.) This type of application requires the nylon cloth tape, which is available for most brands of label makers.I had previously used a Brady IDpal, which had some advantages but was not very reliable. After comparing and reading reviews for the Rhino 5200 and Brother P-touch units, I decided to purchase the Rhino 5200. In short, I was disappointed in the wire wrap capability of the Rhino and ended up returning it. The literature claimed that it would print labels for wires as small as 22awg (which I often use), but I came to find out that the shortest wire wrap label it will print is 1-1/4" long. Why on earth would you need 1-1/4" of label to wrap around a wire only 1/16" in diameter? For...

Works great except one feature...
Have had the BMP21 for a year and a half now, and used it on several projects. I use the nylon cloth labels for wire labeling, DIN terminal blocks, and larger labels on equipment front panels. The label backing is limp, and the mastic aggressive, so that the wire labels stay wrapped on, so far without problems. The printer will do heat shrink sleeves, but I haven't felt the need for such permanence. I find that it works just fine on alkaline AA batteries, and doesn't drain them when not in use, as one reviewer stated. Maybe his is defective or is using rechargeable cells, which discharge eventually whether used or not.One problem has irritated me though. When printing numbers for 5mm wide DIN terminal blocks, it will print serialized numbers, for instance, 10 labels 1-10 starting with 1, with one press of the start button without stopping, and the numbers get spaced on 5mm pitch. If asked to print 10 of the same number (serialize OFF) for terminals joined by a shorting...

Where Can I buy Barcodes

The first thing we need to learn is that cancer is not a bad word and there are treatments out there that can control cancer without poisons. I also have posted educational information that patients that have cancer can do to protect their immune system to fight back the cancer. With great thought and searching my soul, my husband did a lot of research into other ways of treating cancer then surgery , chemo, and radiation. After you learn how to control it then we need to know that cancer feeds off sugar and that we need to change our eating habits. I read in one of my alternative newsletters about Dr. Donato Perez Garcia in Tijuana, Mexico and his IPTLD treatment, which stands for Insulin Potentiation Therapy Low Dose. See my diary and other stories of cancer patient's that were treated by other methods then conventional. org, and read about the treatment which uses FDA approved chemo but only 10 to 20% of the conventional dose, and is administered in a more efficient way. Immediately following my first chemo treatment with him, my husband and I were sitting eating our lunch when I started to weep. I didn't think, "Why me. " I thought, "Why not me", as my mother and her sister had previously had breast cancer. I told him I was so touched that I'd just had a chemo treatment and here I was feeling fine, with no nausea, no side effects, and able to eat a meal. After coming within nine hours of my previously scheduled conventional breast surgery, I canceled it and went to see "Dr. Donato" as he is affectionately called. Donato practices at Hospital Angeles, an immaculately clean, certified, private hospital. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER In 2001 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Touted as "the super fast way for people and organizations to keep each other informed about products," the purpose of the app is to make it easier for regular people to judge the corporations behind the products they buy. Attach comments to product bar codes with a mobile app  . While still in a private beta phase, one such mobile app is OpenLabel. Using a smart phone, scan the bar code on any product and find out what other people are saying about it, and the company behind that product. Download the app (with an iPhone or an Android), scan a bar code, and you can attach music, text, photos, or video content to the bar code for others to see. And when it comes to how they spend their money, many already well-informed buyers want to know more about the corporations behind the products they buy. Once you attach content, the next person who scans the geo-tagged bar code sees what's been added along the way on the product's wall. That's where the next mobile app comes in. Personalize product bar codes with your own content. Crowd-sourcing has been around much longer than the Internet, but it's only with the advent of a number of mobile apps and websites that many consumers are reaping the benefit of the wisdom of people farther outside their circle of friends. And when you scan a bar code, you're rewarded with product discounts and free stuff. The primary choices are a green check mark with "I'd buy," next to it, and a red circle with "I'd avoid. And if you have some reservations about a product but can't find much about it, simply tap the "Ask Others" button and get feedback from people in your circle.
